Where is my journal stored?

On your device, and only there. Grateful to You has no account and no server. If you purchase iCloud Sync & Backup, your journal also syncs between your own iOS devices through your personal iCloud — see the privacy policy for details.

Is Grateful to You really free?

Yes. Writing down moments, streaks, history, and the weekly gratitude letters with sharing are free, always, and unlimited. The two optional purchases — pattern summary credits and iCloud Sync & Backup — are one-time purchases. There are no subscriptions.

How does the daily reminder work?

The reminder is off by default. When you turn it on, Grateful to You learns the time of day you usually journal and schedules a local notification around it — no time picker needed. It only fires when someone still has no entry that day, and a setting lets you keep the wording generic so no names appear in notifications.

How do I stop journaling for someone?

Open Settings, tap the person, and choose "Stop journaling". Please note this is permanent: as a privacy measure, it removes their entire journal — all moments and letters — from your device. The app asks you to confirm before anything happens.

I deleted a moment by accident. Can I get it back?

Within the app, a swipe-deleted moment is removed from your history. If this happens and it matters to you, contact us at support@gratefultoyou.app before reinstalling the app, and we'll do our best to help.

How do I restore my purchases?

Open Settings in the app and tap "Restore Purchases". Purchases are tied to your Apple ID, so they carry over to a new device once restored.

How do I set up the PIN lock?

Open Settings → Privacy and turn on the PIN lock. The PIN is stored securely in your device's Keychain. Because there is no account, a forgotten PIN cannot be recovered by us — you would need to reinstall the app, which removes your local journal.
